Canadian Age Group Champs - Day 5 + Open Water
Mon Jul 26, 2010
The Canadian Age Group Championship concluded with Sunday night's finals and Monday morning's 5 kilometer open water race. These two sessions produced 10 more medals for OSC, 8 in the pool and two at open water. More records were broken as Paige Kremer set her fourth provincial record of the weekend in the 50 fly, and the 15-17 girls medley relay team broke the club record. The 13-14 girls relay also smashed the provincial record in the medley relay by 3 seconds, but unfortunately were disqualified after the race. OSC concluded the meet with 36 medals, 1 National record, 7 Provincial records, and 17 club records. Overall, the team placed 3rd in the overall team standings, 3rd on the women's side, and 7th on the men's. The most impressive thing of the weekend however, was how the team got together to lift each other to great performances time and again, from great cheering during finals to the excellent positive attitudes of all the swimmers. Congratulations to all the OSC swimmers on a great meet!
