Steven Plamondon - President

As an enthusiastic swim dad, I proudly support my two kids’ aquatic journeys. My eldest has been diving into the world of swimming for nine years, competing in various events and honing their skills. Meanwhile, my youngest has recently made a splash, actively training for five years and eager to chase their sibling’s success. I am passionate about fostering their love for the sport, cheering them on during competitions, and spending quality time at the pool. Watching them grow as swimmers and individuals brings me immense joy! In addition to being a dedicated parent, I serve as the newly appointed president of our swim club. I have previously managed fundraising for two years and am now in my fifth season overseeing concessions. I have taken on every volunteer and AFC position available and absolutely love this club. My goal is to ensure its success for many years to come!

Albert So - Vice President

I’ve been part of this amazing swim club since 2022, where my two sons have thrived in the water and built lasting friendships. When I’m not cheering on the team or managing my hotels across Alberta, you can find me on the golf course enjoying some downtime. I’m proud to be part of a community that values both athleticism and family, and I am excited to continue supporting our swim team’s growth and success.

Dan Gover - Treasurer

I joined the OSC community in 2022 when my son began swimming with the club, starting in Mini O’s and now in the OW group. It’s been a privilege to watch him grow in such a supportive environment. As a CPA with extensive experience in government budget management and financial oversight, I value transparency and fiscal responsibility. I'm excited to serve as Treasurer and to help ensure the club’s financial health, support swimmer development, and find meaningful ways to give back to the families who make OSC such a special community.

Maureen de Kock - Secretary

I am a proud swim mom with two athletes in OSC – one competing in the Provincial group at the Kinsmen and another just starting out in the JOW program at Fountain Park Pool. I hold a degree in Accounting and Business Management, which helps me stay organized, detail-focused, and ensures I can keep the board on track and on time. I’m passionate about supporting the club and contributing to a positive, well-run environment for all our swimmers and their families.

Michelle Pratt - Fundraising Director

Yo, it’s Michelle on the mic, back for season five,
Fundraising director, keepin’ dreams alive.
From the swim club lanes to the schoolyard too,
I’ve been leadin’ fundraisers, makin’ goals come true.
We hustle, we grind, for the athletes we cheer,
Workin’ with the fams to make the vision clear.
So let’s team up strong, make the club shine bright,
With hard work and heart, we’ll reach new heights!

Taniya Birbeck - Competitions Director

Our family has been members of Olympian Swim Club since 2019.  Our eldest daughter currently trains with the national group and has competed at a number of Swimming Canada competitions. I have a masters degree in Physical Education & Recreation from the University of Alberta and am certified as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist. Through various career and volunteer endeavors I have been supporting people to be active/involved in sport for almost 30 years! When I'm not volunteering on deck or cheering for OSC swimmers in the stands, you can find me running, swimming, or biking in Edmonton's beautiful river valley.

Susan Cabigon - Competitions Director

For a decade and counting, I have been a proud OSC parent to my two kids and like many of you, have spent countless hours on-deck or in the stands. My Business Management degree and sales background has enabled me to easily engage and coordinate our Officials community for the last several seasons. Now, this year, I join an exceptional board as one of the Competition Directors.
I am appreciative of the opportunity to volunteer with the remarkable organization that is OSC.

Samar Al-Hajjaj - Engagement Director

I’m proud to serve as Director of Engagement on the OSC Board. As a long-time swim mom with almost a decade of involvement in the club, I’ve supported my daughters through every stage of their journey—from 10 & under swim meets  to one of them retiring after graduating and joining OSC as a coach. I’ve been involved in all things hospitality, chaperoning, and community-building, helping lead key events like the annual banquet, the OSC Distance Challenge, and our Spring Social. I work closely with fundraising, the office, and volunteers to support chaperone training, hospitality training and create meaningful, engaging experiences for our swim families. My goal is to keep our members informed, connected, and proud to be part of the OSC community. I’m always happy to connect and help bring ideas to life—let’s make it a great season!

Paul Lanni - Engagement & Business Development Director

My journey with OSC began when my 3 children joined the club in 2018. I’ve since witnessed firsthand the profound impact that swimming has had on our family. My focus as a Board Member is on championing strong governance and supporting the sustainable fulfillment of the Club's mission. I am a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta and hold the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. Through my participation on the Board, I am privileged to leverage my financial acumen and governance experience for the continued benefit of the Olympian Swim Club.

Alana Cockwill - Director at Large

New to year round swimming, but not the pool.  My daughter begged me to switch from summer club, so here we are with bells on. I am excited to be on the OSC Board as a director at large and to be part of such a family friendly club.

Shelley Zaboroski - Director at Large

My daughter began swimming with OSC in the fall of 2022 in the Mini’s O’s program and has since progressed into the club’s competitive program.  She is very passionate about her sport and swim club.  Being a proud swim parent - I look forward to serving and contributing as a Director at Large.  I am committed to collectively working with all board members in fostering and preserving OSC’s goals and objectives to ensure the overall success of the swim club.

Ashley Wilhite - Director at Large

I am very excited to be part of this board as a director at large. This is my second season with OSC, however my daughter is entering her 6th season of competitive Swimming. Some of the skills that I hope to bring to the board come from years of management and adapting to situations that can change as fast as a swimmer's flip turns. This has also taught me to look at any situation from every angle possible to make the best decision for all involved. I am very passionate about helping families being as involved as they are able to be with their child sports. Even the smallest bit of volunteering or fundraising is a great example to show your swimmer community involvement, and that you are just as excited about their interest as they are.
