2024 Speedo Western Canadian Championships 
March 20th to 24th, 2024

10 of our fastest swimmers represented Olympian Swim Club at Winnipeg for the Last Western Championships of all time! These dedicated athletes gave their all in the pool, yielding truly remarkable results! 

Some of the highlights of this meet are as followed:

Layne Birbeck: Captured two Senior Olympic Trial times in 50&100 breast, she also won 2 silver medals in 100&200 breast! 

Sahara Visscher: Broke the club record twice in 100 back and won Silver in finals, and again after breaking her own club record twice, she won the bronze medal in 50 back! She finished second and won another silver in 50 free and got senior trials time, she also got a junior trials time in 200 free!
 

Breanna White: Dropped 2.62 seconds in 400 free and won the silver medal! She won the 100 fly and stole the gold medal from her competitors.

Tanner Cole: Finished second in 200 breast and won the silver medal! He touched third in 400 free in finals and won a bronze medal.

Alex Lim: After dropping 8.46 seconds Alex got his first CJC in 400 IM and swam under 5 minutes in this event for the first time!

Our incredible swimmers exhibited outstanding teamwork in the pool and showed incredible support for one another through their cheering!

A heartfelt appreciation goes out to our exceptional chaperones: Eugene Gyorfi, Leah Gyorfi, and Taniya Birbeck. Their unwavering dedication and hard work ensured the success of our trip, keeping the kids well-fed and in high spirits throughout the entire week!
