This past weekend OSC sent 43 swimmers to the Edmonton Keyano International swim meet held here in Edmonton at the Kinsmen Sports Centre. This will be OSC’s final swim meet of the season before Summer Provincial Champs in 3 weeks time. Knowing that they will be training through this meet, OSC swimmers stepped up in a big way with some amazing results and more records!
Tao So continued his career season setting 3 new club records and a provincial record in the 800 Free better his old record with a new time of 9:22.50. His other two records were in the 200 Free (2:11.29) and 400 IM (5:05.08). On the final day of the meet Tao also won the Youth Swim of the Day in the 1500 Free scoring the most World Swimming Points and getting the honors. Great swimming Tao!
Leo Wang also had a fantastic weekend going ⅞ best times and winning the Youth Swim of the Day THREE DAYS IN A ROW on Thursday (200 Free), Friday (400 IM) and Saturday (400 Free) beating out a very tough 13&under competition field. Congratulations Leo on a fantastic weekend representing OSC!
Joshua Bodet also swam some stellar times earning himself a Top 10 time in his 400 Freestyle with a time of 4:19.12 fighting in the final lap to take gold and the time! Joshua finished the weekend with 7 best times and 7 podium finishes! The hard work is paying off for this young athlete, way to go Joshua!
Over the course of the weekend OSC put together some amazing finals and podium finishes, completing the weekend with 20 GOLD, 17 SILVER and 15 BRONZE. Congratulations to all swimmers on their podium finishes!
The coaches are extremely proud of the efforts of all swimmers and there is a big sense of confidence as we head into the final 3 weeks of the 2025-2026 season!
