On February 28th, 2026 OSC swimmers traveled to Lloydminster for the Rush Swim Meet, bringing energy, focus, and great team spirit to the pool deck. It was a strong weekend of racing, highlighted by multiple event wins, big personal bests, and a new Alberta Provincial Trials qualification. Across all age groups, athletes demonstrated resilience, positive attitudes, and a commitment to racing hard.
 

Meet Highlights
Event Wins

  • Luke Li (9–10) — 50 Free, 100 Free, 100 Back, 50 Breast, 100 IM
  • Laura Quant (15 & Over) — 100 Back, 200 Free, 100 IM
  • Sophie Mustafiz (13–14) — 100 Breast (also a Provincial Trials Qualifier!)

Second-Place Finishes

  • Calvin Boehner (9–10) — 50 Free, 50 Back, 25 Fly
  • Marx Miller (9–10) — 50 Breast
  • Laura Quant (15 & Over) — 50 Breast
  • Sophie Mustafiz (13–14) — 50 Breast

Third-Place Finishes

  • Marx Miller (9–10) — 50 Back

 

Athlete Performances
9–10 Boys

  • Luke Li delivered another outstanding meet, winning all five of his events and posting strong times across the board. His 50 Free (31.79 PB) and 100 Free (1:11.33 PB) were standout swims.
  • Calvin Boehner showed major improvement with multiple personal bests, including a huge drop in the 50 Free (–4.77) and a strong PB in the 25 Fly.

 

13–14 Girls

  • Sophie Mustafiz had a breakthrough meet, earning a Provincial Trials qualification in the 100 Breast with a massive PB of 1:28.13 (–5.13). She also placed 2nd in the 50 Breast with another PB.

 

15 & Over Girls

  • Laura Quant dominated her events, winning the 100 Back, 200 Free (PB), and 100 IM (PB), along with a strong 2nd-place finish in the 50 Breast. Her improvements in the 200 Free and 100 IM show excellent progress in endurance and race strategy.
