OSC Delivers Outstanding Performances at Alberta Summer Festival

26 OSC swimmers traveled to Grande Prairie to compete at the Alberta Summer Festival from June 12–14 at the Eastlink Centre. The team put together an impressive weekend of racing, achieving numerous personal bests, podium finishes, qualifying standards, and club records.

Club Record Performances

A special congratulations to Tao So, who broke five club records during the meet:

• 100 Backstroke – 1:06.88 (previously 1:07.12 by Braden O'Neill)
• 200 Backstroke – 2:18.79 (previously 2:22.78 by Braden O'Neill)
• 100 Butterfly – 1:06.20 (previously 1:07.19 by Mackenzie Lubberding)
• 200 Butterfly – 2:24.41 (previously 2:28.03 by Cameron Chan)
• 100 Medley – 1:08.15 (previously 1:10.80 by Evan Brake)

Standard Achievements

Mackenna Riou achieved her Best of the West standard in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:52.08.

Mila Andriuk achieved her Provincial Championships standard in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 3:01.50.

Youth Recognition Awards

Congratulations to Tao So, Evan Brake, and Beckham Dodd for earning Youth Recognition Awards for their outstanding performances throughout the season.

Podium Finishes

Leading the OSC medal count were Tao So (5 gold, 4 silver), Evan Brake (1 gold, 5 silver, 1 bronze), Beckham Dodd (3 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze), and Mackenna Riou (1 silver, 5 bronze). Followed by Luke Li (1 silver, 1 bronze), Derek Pahanonot (1 silver), and Elise Wonsiak (1 silver).

Congratulations to all swimmers, coaches, and families on an exceptional weekend of racing. The team's 152 personal bests, 36 podium finishes, 5 club records, and multiple new qualifying standards are a reflection of the dedication and effort shown throughout the season. Great job, OSC!
